well there was the weird mod scene and the hippie scene

the mod weirdos wore weird geometrical dresses and big sunglasses, hairsprayed pom like hairstyles and dramatic perhapse cat eye liquid eye liner.

the hippies diddnt do anything. They left their hair natural and wore looses fitting flowy clothing. I dont think they even bothered with makeup unless its like full on trippy body paint. Maybe have your hair wavy and pin a flower in it and keep your makeup minimal- concealer, bronzer, blush and lots of mascara. No eyeliner. If in high school and female, bouffant on top with flipped ends with length at about jaw line. Pony tails and sometimes double pony tails (one higher than the other and blended).

Can't answer for makeup as only wore mascara and lipstick.

My sisters and I curled our hair with rags or bobby pins. Some teased hair, some did not.

Generally, a haircut at a salon was not done until one left school and entered the job market and then one could also color or bleach hair, and ash blond was a popular choice.
