I'm guessing by 70s, you mean the disco era. If so, try wearing your hair feathered back (ala Farrah Fawcet in Charlie's Angels). Another 70s hair fashion was wearing scarves in your hair. For makeup, try anything glittery, blue eyeshadow and/or mascara, frosted lipsticks (especially pink)Help!!! I'm going to a murder mystery TONIGHT and need ideas for 70's hair and makeup.?

COOOL!!
70's was all about that cheesy Farrah Faucet hairstyle--straight but curled UP at the ends.
You MUST use BLUE EYE-SHADOW and Pink Frosted Lipstick.
OR-----if your hair is short, straighen it so that its flat and curl the ends UNDER--so that it looks like a Bowl on your head--like a corny soccer mom.
Straight hair - unless your hair is short, then curl it ALOT! Blue eyeshadow is a must! Lots of eye liner. Light or white lipstick. Glitter is good if you are going for a ';disco'; look. Giant sunglasses were ';in'; too. :) Have fun! Good luck! :)
That depends--early 70s (hippie look), or later 70s (disco era)? Here's a site that will give you some good ideas:

Peasant dresses were popular if you don't want to go with the disco look. You could get away with bell bottoms and a flannel shirt. Watch some 70's movies or TV shows for more inspiration.
get a big curling iron and curl your hair back so that is feathers just right if you have layers. Use lots of blue eyeshadow and red lipstick. If you don't have layers, pull the sides of your hair up in a barret or something. Have fun!
oh wow that sounds fun! i say go all out and do a carol brady. Look up some pictures of her and try and emulate her, she's such a iconic seventies character.
